There is an underlining social purpose to my work, particularly in the context of Mental Health – with a developing interest in how Illustration can bring people together. I am fascinated in understanding how visual imagery can be used to help break down and explain complicated information and emotions, while also making content fun and engaging.
My illustration practice explores the relationship between pattern, colour and texture. Mixing playful hand drawn rather tactile processes, with more refined precise digital ones. I love creating organic rough surfaces, through mark making and collage materials; juxtaposed with clean crisp forms and shapes that digital software can offer me.
